Open to tradesColor Studies is an ongoing practice in looking closer. Painterly bands overlap to reveal the unexpected shade between two colours; hex codes sit beside brushy surfaces like field notes. In its quieter work, colour becomes a way to talk about memory, intimacy and what the eye thinks it knows. These zines make observation feel both precise and personal.
A dig down through the ground, with a painted-wall look. Each page is a cut-away of soil layers, from sunlit sand through clay, ochre and iron-red earth into peat, loam and slate, down to bedrock. Between every layer, the color the two make where they overlap, each labeled with its hex code.
